HTML- and JavaScript?-based Web Applications Plugin

This plug-in provides the means to apply our techniques to HTML- and JavaScript?-based web applications. Further technologies are not supported. The Plugin consists of two artifacts:

  1. HTML-Monitor: A monitoring component that can be used to monitor HTML- and JavaScript?-based web applications running on Apache web servers. The details of this artifact are explained here.
  2. autoquest-plugin-html: A Java plug-in into the AutoQUEST Frontend that allows parsing of data monitored with the HTML-Monitor into events to be used with the AutoQUEST Core.

First, the HTML-Monitor needs to be installed to record user behavior. Afterwards, the recorded data can be fed into AutoQUEST for further analysis using the autoquest-plugin-html. The parsing of the log data can be parameterized to handle missing ids of elements on HTML web pages. Through this, it is also possible to detect website elements on different pages which are logically and semantically the same. Examples for this are menu structure repeated on all pages of a site. The configuration and the parsing itself is described under HTML-Logdata Parsing.
